Dancing, choreographing and teaching professionally for more than 20 years,
Christy Cote began her career as a Ballroom and Latin dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios. For the past 6 years she has devoted her love
of dance to Argentine Tango becoming one of San Francisco's most respected
dancers and teachers. She has been featured locally on KVTU's Segment 2
Report with Bob MacKenzie and KPIX/Channel 5 Evening Magazine with
Jonathan Karsh.As the Creator and Director of the Academia de Tango Argentino at San Francisco's popular Metronome Ballroom she hosts guest teachers from all over the world including well known maestros from Buenos Aires. She also teaches group and private classes, workshops and hosts a monthly milonga. The Metronome Ballroom hosts Christy's LiberTango Dancers. The group and its individual couples perform for special events and with local musicians Tango No. 9 and MonTango in their concert performances.
Along with Adolfo Caszarry, Christy hosts the popular Verdi Club Milonga. This is San Francisco's longest running milonga and is held every Thursday evening at the Verdi Club.
