Beginning a life-long career of dance studies at the
age of three, Cherie has danced everything from ballet
to country & western, even having her own cabaret
belly dance company, The Perfumes of Araby, a few
years ago. Lately she has been having fun choreographing
musicals such as "Hair" and "Les Miserables." for amateur groups.
With degrees in Dance and Library Science from UCLA,
Cherie has published many articles in professional
journals and magazines, and at one point was the
Dance Librarian for the Los Angeles Public Library.
Her solo travels to Europe and Latin America have
inspired several pieces appearing in Skirt!, PassionFruit,
Moxie, JourneyWoman, Dancing USA, GoNomad, Open Spaces,
and the-vu. Cherie also writes an online dance column,
CHIPS 'N SALSA! The dance critic for the Cerritos News
in Orange County, California, she is currently at work
on a novel situated in France, when not out dancing salsa
and Argentine tango.
