Big Biz Finally Waking Up to Climate Change Facts? --- Coca-Cola, as reported by Coral Davenport of The New York Times, is feeling the negative impact of climate change on its balance sheet after losing a big-money-making opportunity in India because of the lack of water to make its products due to persistent drought. Climate change is also interfering with Coca-Cola's supply of needed resources such as cane sugar, beet sugar, and citrus, important ingredients in their products. As more companies wake up to the climate change reality, it begs the question of whether the Republican party will also wake up and at least stop denying that climate change is real and it is beginning to have a major impact on everyone including industry and their bottom line.

Republican party Cimate-Change Deniers in congress --- "...it is difficult to identify another major political party in any democracy as thoroughly dismissive of climate science as is the GOP here...(there is) no party-wide view like this anywhere in the world that I am aware of." Eileen Claussen, president of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. Some climate estimates project that by about 2050, the climate in San Francisco, CA, will be similar to the current climate in Tijuana, Mexico.

U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Representative Jim McDermott (D-WA) sponsored the Pay Your Bills or Lose Your Pay Act of 2013, legislation that would prevent Members of Congress from being paid if they fail to raise the debt ceiling and the government defaults.
